Printed copy of the designs for the Pavilion at Brighton by Humphrey Repton 1808. Humphrey Repton (1752-1818) was a consultant landscape designer who produced leather-bound “Red Books” of designs for clients, but who did not actually implement the designs himself. This printed Red Book shows Repton’s designs for Brighton Pavilion, including his trademark use of paper flaps or fliers which could be turned back to show what his art could achieve.
They were not taken up: it was John Nash who was commissioned to do the work.
